Darko Štriga

Darko Štriga was born on January 6th, 1988 in Varazdin, Croatia. In the year 2006 he finished his high school education at the Electromechanical School, Varazdin. The same year he enrolled in the undergraduate study program at Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb. He received B.Sc. degree on July 10th, 2009. The same year he continued his education at Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, now at graduate study level. He received M.Sc. degree on June 13th, 2011. The topic of his master thesis was "Content recommender based on social networking" (supervisor: Prof.dr.sc. Ignac Lovrek).

In 2010, he enrolled in the graduate study program at Faculty of Economics & Business Zagreb, University of Zagreb. He received M.Sc. degree on November 26th, 2012. The topic of his master thesis was "Analysis of brand interactions within social networks" (supervisor: Prof.dr.sc. Nataša Erjavec).

Currently he is working at the Telecommunication Department of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing as a Research Associate. He is a Ph.D. student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing.

He is a member of IEEE association.

  • "Josip Loncar" Award for excellence for academic year 2006/2007 from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing;
  • Case Study Competition 2011: TechnoMax – “Marketing Strategy” (3rd place)
  • Case Study Competition 2012: Zagrebacka pivovara – “Ozujsko Digital Platform” (2nd place)
    • Case Study Competition is the biggest student competition in Croatia, with a goal of connecting the best Croatian companies with best students. Students are given business problems to solve and the best are awarded. In 2012 more than 3500 students participated and the fund amounted 256 000kn. The competition was supported by president Ivo Josipović
